Faith and Works. Ephesians 2:4-10
Salvation has been an age-old question, particularly in the area of how it is obtained. Does one earn it, or is it given, and if given, to whom? Christians have taught salvation is a gift. No man is worthy of salvation, nor can any man earn his salvation. We must be willing to ask GOD for HIS gift of salvation.
Why has GOD provided salvation for man? (v4) (Luke 15:11-32; John 3:16; I John 4:10)
How does GOD’s salvation come to us? (v5,6) (Colossians 1:19-22; Romans 8:1-4; Acts 13:38-39)
If we could earn our salvation, what does Paul say that we would do? (v9)
Paul is very clear in v8 that salvation is from grace through our faith. According to Paul (v10), what role does works play in our lives? How does Paul’s feelings match up with James’ in James 2:14-18?
Application:
What role in your life does good works play?
How do your good works show that you are the workmanship of GOD?
